OCPS families,
We wanted to make you aware that the district is closely monitoring storm activity with Tropical Depression Nine which could develop into Hurricane Ian. OCPS is working closely with the National Weather Service and local emergency management offices and watching the storm’s projection.
It is still too soon to determine the exact impact on Orange County but at this point, there are no plans to cancel school or extracurricular activities.
Prior to and throughout any storm, the district will send messages to OCPS families by phone, email and text. Updates will also be posted on ocps.net and our district's Facebook and Twitter social media pages regarding school operations.
We will continue to work with Orange County Emergency Management on any plans for using our schools as shelters. We’ll keep you apprised of any of those plans if they are implemented.
Thank you for your support of OCPS!
