From Ms. Stahler - Social Worker

Hello, Attached is the ‘Start With Hello’ Week details. All activities are done during lunch. Its mission is to teach empathy and empower students to end social isolation by following three easy steps:

See Someone Alone

Step 1: Learn how to recognize the signs of loneliness and social isolation.

Reach Out And Help

Step 2: Find out what you can do to help others feel included.

Start With Hello

Step 3: Discover how to break the ice and strike up a conversation.

If you have any questions let me know!

OCPS families,

We wanted to make you aware that the district is closely monitoring storm activity with Tropical Depression Nine which could develop into Hurricane Ian. OCPS is working closely with the National Weather Service and local emergency management offices and watching the storm’s projection.

It is still too soon to determine the exact impact on Orange County but at this point, there are no plans to cancel school or extracurricular activities.

Prior to and throughout any storm, the district will send messages to OCPS families by phone, email and text. Updates will also be posted on and our district's Facebook and Twitter social media pages regarding school operations.

We will continue to work with Orange County Emergency Management on any plans for using our schools as shelters. We’ll keep you apprised of any of those plans if they are implemented.

Thank you for your support of OCPS!
