Mrs. Lee's Class Newsletter
Week of November 11th
What's Happening?
I have been summoned for Jury Duty starting on Tuesday. If you email me on a day that I am out, I may not get the message until later that day. Hopefully it will be quick and I can get back to teaching your awesome children!

Our Thanksgiving lunch time is 12:15 on Wednesday. We will have sack lunches on Thursday.

What are we learning?
Math (Mrs. Lee's Class): We are continuing our fraction unit by reviewing improper fractions/mixed numbers as well as equivalent fractions. We are also learning to add and subtract fractions with unlike denominators. GOOD NEWS! We teach the same method we all learned in school! We will create equivalent fractions with common denominators to add and subtract.
Science (Mrs. Lee's Class): We are finishing our unit on learned and inherited traits with a project. Students will be creating a monster based on a parent monster. They will be telling about their monsters' learned and inherited traits. It should be fun!
Social Studies: The scores for the WWI test are in the grade book. The retake day will be Wednesday, if I am here. If I am not here, I will reschedule it when I return. We are finishing up our Roaring 20s study with a Google Slide project. Students will complete this entirely at school.
Writing: We will be looking at the rubric for our nonfiction writing and continuing to write our rough drafts.
Reading: We are continuing on focus on nonfiction reading. We continue discussing main ideas and details as well as organization of nonfiction texts.
