What is the Reading Counts Challenge?
It's no secret that reading and literacy development are of the utmost importance. We want to promote healthy reading habits and a genuine love for reading. Students can secure a pass to the media center or come with their ELA teacher for check out. Students can use Destiny Discover to check out eBooks. Students can also read books from their personal collection. Students have a choice of selecting books of interest and preferably within their Lexile Range. Students can check to see if the book is supported by the "Reading Counts Quizzes Database". Students can earn class rewards and opportunities for individual prizes and recognition.

BMMS Celebrates Women's History Month
In celebration of Women's History Month, the Anne Frank in Translation Traveling Exhibition was on display in the media center hallway. The Library of Congress, National Archives and Records Administration, National Endowment for the Humanities, National Gallery of Art, National Park Service, Smithsonian Institution and United States Holocaust Memorial Museum commemorate and encourage the study, observance and celebration of the vital role of women in American history. Students and teachers were able to take a self guided tour.
