Where'd You Go Bernadette

By Maria Semple

Maria Semple really uses characterization to bring this novel together. The disappearance of Bernadette and then Bee's determination to find her mother enhances the novel for the readers. Bernadette leaving shows her selfishness and not caring about the rest of her family. It really brings out her true personality.

The setting of this novel puts a big impact on it because without Bee going to Galer Street, Bernadette wouldn't have had many problem with the Galer moms which might have made her stay and not disappear.

Me personally, wouldn't recommend this book to many other readers, especially any readers under the age of 15. This book got confusing at some parts and I didn't get to enjoy it as much as I would've liked to.
