Odyssey of the Mind Team Prepares for Regionals
Odyssey of the Mind teams are preparing for Southern Arizona Regional Finals on Saturday, March 4. Magee will compete with multiple middle schools from the area in five different problem categories. The competition is open free to the public at Canyon del Oro High School starting at 9 a.m. and concluding with an Award Ceremony in the late afternoon.
Photo: One of the problem categories is called Structure. The team creates a balsa wood structure weighing no more than 15 grams, to see how much weight it can hold. In a recent test at Magee, team members Khloe' Bell-Harry and Isabel Szlemko placed weights on one of their structures until it finally broke, after holding more than 900 pounds.

Encourage Your Student to use the Speedway Walkway
Parents,
We need your help! If you have a child that takes the city bus home or has to cross Speedway, please tell them they must use the overpass next to our school. We have problems with some student crossing Speedway without using the overpass. This poses a serious safety concern! Thank you for your support!
Counselor Corner 💛
- Course selection is happening! Students have been selecting courses and schedules are being created for next year. I also have course selection forms for many of our feeder high schools. Sahuaro, Sabino, Rincon, Santa Rita & Palo Verde have all take the time to visit with our school. If your student missed the opportunity to meet with the counselor from there, please let me know and I can assist.
As always, If you have concerns about your child, please reach out. Magee is connected with many outside *free* resources for counseling services. Many times, we can get them support within a few days.
