Inspiring Talks with Julie Bogart
Inspire is launching a new series for our homeschooling community called Inspiring Talks. We know you know the value of attending homeschool conferences where you would have met Julie at the HomeSchool Association of California (HSC) conference last August, but it is not practical for everyone to attend these events.
Our solution? Inspire will bring the best speakers to you with a mission to lift you up, share ideas, and fill your bag of teaching tips and tricks. Some speakers will enlighten you about trends in homeschooling while others are experts in subject areas and may offer workshops to engage you as you learn about novel ways to teach your children reading, writing, math, and more!
Our first in-person Inspiring Talks is with Julie Bogart. Julie is a former homeschool mom, creative genius behind Brave Writer, and international speaker.
“Parents want their children to have academic success. Children want to be happy. Can’t we get these two desires together: learning that develops skill and creates joy? How do parents nurture a love of learning amid childish chaos, parental self-doubt, the flu, and state academic standards?” - Julie Bogart
Please join us as Julie discusses these issues and her new book, The Braver Learner.
Julie will be available for a book signing following the talk!
You may order a copy of Julie's new book, The Brave Learner: Finding Everyday Magic in Homeschool, Learning, and Life through the Enrichment Ordering System ahead of the event. Or, books will be available for purchase on the day of the event for $12 per book (Enrichment staff will be on-site to process orders for those who would like to use their Instructional Funds).
This is a FREE event, but due to limited space, reservations are required.

Give Your Child the World: Raising Globally Minded Kids One Book at a Time
Young children live with awe and wonder as their daily companions. But as they grow, worries often crowd out wonder. Knowing this, how can parents strengthen their kids' love for the world so it sticks around for the long haul?
Thankfully, parents have at their fingertips a miracle vaccine--one that can boost their kids' immunity to the world's distractions. STORY.
Well-chosen stories connect us with others, even those on the other side of the globe. Build your kids' lives on a story-solid foundation and you'll give them armor to shield themselves from the world's cynicism. You'll give them confidence to persevere in the face of life's conflicts. You'll give them a reservoir of compassion that spills over into a lifetime of love in action.
Give Your Child the World includes more than 600 children's book recommendations from around the world. Reading lists are organized by region, country, and age range (ages 4-12). Each listing includes a brief description of the book, its themes, and any content of which parents should be aware.
Parents can introduce their children to the world from the comfort of home by simply opening a book together. Give Your Child the World is poised to become a bestselling family reading treasury that promotes literacy, develops a global perspective, and strengthens family bonds while increasing faith and compassion.

Homeschooling Advice
"10 Reasons Why You Will LOVE Homeschooling Your Teen"
2) Character development remains a crucial focus. For us, one of the biggest reasons we chose to homeschool in the first place was the character and demeanor of the high school kids around us. We were impressed with those who were being homeschooled — not so much with those who were not.
My own opinion is that too many parents give up working with their child’s character too early. When our kids are home for high school, we are able to see first-hand who they are becoming and help guide them to make wise choices on a daily basis. They have no opportunity to hide aspects of their character from us. We are not dependent on their teachers to tell us about their behavior; we see for ourselves and can respond accordingly. At a time in their lives when character is being solidified, this is key."
