2nd Hand News
September 29-October 3
We had an active week in 2nd grade. The children are very enthusiastic about becoming young arborists. They participated in Adopt a Tree, and will follow their chosen campus tree through the seasons using scientific observation, mapping, and measuring skills. In math, we worked on place value and learned the true value of Our Hero, Zero! with a Schoolhouse Rock flashback. In language arts, we are using a story organizer to develop characters, setting, and plot for an original story based on The Boy Who Lived With Seals. We are starting on our "sloppy copies" and the editing process. An enjoyable visit to Peddler's Village for the scarecrow walk with our 8th grade friends was a highlight of the week.
