The Transformed Heart- What Does it Mean to Love God and One Another? Question for this week: How can I walk in love?
This week’s Bible verse is… 2 John 1:6 “And this is love: that we walk in obedience to his commands. As you have heard from the beginning, his command is that you walk in love.
Yours in Christ,
See You at the Pole
Lower School students and families are welcome to join our entire school at the flag pole on Main Street for a time of prayer. See You at the Pole is an annual gathering of thousands of Christian students at flagpoles in front their schools for prayer, scripture reading and worship. Homecoming Dress Up Week
To celebrate WSCA's Homecoming, the Lower School is dressing up! We enjoyed Book Character Day today. It's a hot week - it's okay if your dressing up includes "top of the knee" casual or athletic shorts!
Tuesday - "Comfy Cozy Day" - Pajamas, sweats, slippers...just don't fall asleep in class!
Wednesday - "Sports Day" - Love to play, love to watch, love to cheer on...show us!
Thursday - "Place That I Love Day" - The baseball field, the beach, Italy, hiking in the woods, Grandma's house...where do you love to go, or wish you could go?
Friday - "Formal Day or School Spirit Day" - Let's pretend to be the teenagers going to Homecoming and get dressed up! Or you can wear Friday's WSCA School Spirit and jeans.
Participation in theme days is optional, or wear your school uniform. Jeans and "top of the knee" shorts/dresses/shorts are welcome if your are participating. Direct questions to Mrs. VanHart.
Race for Education
Race for Education is less than THREE weeks away and we have already achieved over 20% of our $45,000 goal! On Thursday, October 12th, WSCA students will take time out of the day to run laps on a 1/4 mile marked course to raise money for the school. WSCA has made it easier than ever to register and encourage friends and families to support our students by offering an online giving option at www.raceforeducation17.kintera.org
Registered students that submitted 1 name/address label or email will be receiving a WSCA Race for Ed t-shirt to wear that day. All students will receive a goody bag as well as information from our race sponsors. The cafeteria will be closed, so please bring a complete pack lunch.
Friends and family are welcome to come and cheer on the students while they run. It's a great WSCA social time! Bring your chairs and cameras! There will be a stand serving snacks from 11:00-3:00. We are also in need of volunteers and concession stand donations. Please contact Rebecca Kipe at: firstname.lastname@example.org if you are to help and watch for link where you can sign up to help.
While you are here for the race, help WSCA earn extra money by test driving a brand new car around the parking lot! Thanks to "Lincoln's Drive for the Kids," WSCA will receive $20 for every test drive and an additional $10 with a second test-drive in any different 2017 Lincoln vehicle. If your teen is 18 years or older, they qualify as a test driver. Don't forget your driver's license! We are thankful for this great program that has raised money for WSCA through the years! The program runs from 10:00-4:00.
Race times are:
10:05-10:30 - All PreK classes in the gymnasium
12:00-12:30 - 6th-8th grade
