We are so excited to get this year started. If your child is on the remote team, you will continue to receive the Klem South updates. You should also start to receive updates from the remote administrators and teachers. We are working together as a One Webster family to support our students in both models. Please note that the curriculum nights listed in this email are for our hybrid students only. The remote team will be in touch regarding their curriculum nights.

Wishing everyone a smooth start to the school year!

Health and Safety

Please remember that at school and on school transportation, students and staff will be required to wear masks. We also will increase our handwashing practices and help kids watch their distance from others.

Gator masks are not an acceptable face covering. Please make sure your child does not have a gator mask.

PikMyKid

We will be using PikMyKid to help with arrival and dismissal. Thank you for your support in learning about this new resource and process.

We are now ready to implement the next, and final, step in the process. Beginning Thursday, September 10th, you will complete the daily health screen for your child in PikMyKid. If you are picking up your child at dismissal, you will see a PikMyKid Stop Sign as you enter the school property. At that point, the Announce Button on your PikMyKid App will turn Green alerting us you are in line to pick up your child. This will help us sequence the children in the same order as you have entered the campus. We are excited to use PikMyKid to help make the dismissal process very efficient and safe.

Please follow our new traffic patterns located on the map you received in your welcome mailing. Here is a reminder about the designated parent drop off and pick up times:

Welcome Back, One Webster!

It’s a new school year, undoubtedly like none other that we have ever started together! But, together, we are returning to school and are thankful to our faculty, staff, and all of our families who have made this return a possibility. In whatever way your child is experiencing school this year, please know that your board of education is here to support all of our families. Above, you will note the PTSA/board of education school liaison assignments for the year and all board of education members’ emails. Please feel free to email your liaison with any questions or feedback throughout the year!

Also, the district has developed a RETURN TO SCHOOL HANDBOOK that was emailed to all parents/guardians on August 28 by Superintendent Carmen Gumina. We have also linked it in this column as it is an informative resource that will be updated with any new information as the district receives it. All district households should also have received the district’s annual paper Back to School newsletter, too, (via USPS mail) that should help with any questions you may have.

We are grateful to begin a new year together! Welcome back!

Be sure to read this monthly column from your board of education shared in school newsletters throughout the year. We look forward to serving nearly 8,400 students, families, faculty, and staff once again this year!

Is your family moving?

If your family is moving out of the district OR your student is transferring to a non-public school (private, parochial, or charter school), please complete a Parent Withdrawal Statement as soon as you know your student will be moving or transferring.

Thank you,
