Standard Based Grading

As we work to define grading and improve how we report information to families, we would like to hear from parents regarding

  • what you would like to see in a report card
  • what information is most important
  • how do you want the information shared
  • your thoughts regarding homework
Please use the link below to respond to a survey so we can better define how we can provide parents and families with the most useful information. In addition, we will be piloting a more detailed report card in Mrs. Nevins/Carlson's third grade classroom. Students enrolled in this class will begin receiving our current report card along with a more detailed report card showing specific skills versus just an over-all grade per subject. Please email any comments regarding this report card to ebt@galwaycsd.org

Golden Trashcan

The Golden Trashcan is making a return visit! Beginning in January, the custodial staff will provide points to each classroom each night for their ability to demonstrate pride in their classroom. They will assign points based on organization, cleanliness and neatness. The office will tally the points at the end of each week and announce the classroom winner on Monday mornings. We will have a designated wall in our hallway to honor the winners. We are proud of our school and hope to honor students for showing their school pride!

Great news! We are very pleased to share that beginning in January, Mrs. Kempf and Mrs. Hoffman (welcome back) will now be working with all of our students as Response to Intervention teachers. They each will provide small group lessons to support reading skills along with providing enrichment classes to qualifying students throughout the grades. JHE is committed to providing all of our students with what they need to reach their full potential. In addition, we welcome back Mrs. Canell. Her husband is on the road to recovery and she is so appreciative of everyone's support in and around the community!

Congratulations Emma Marianni
