In tomorrow's Home Base Advisory, students will be asked to reflect on this past year as we head toward the one year anniversary of school closure and revised programming due to the COVID-19 pandemic. If someone asks you 30 years from now what it was like, what will you want to remember?

Please read on!

Request a Program Change for Term 4

This is families' last opportunity to request a change from remote to hybrid or from hybrid to remote for the 2020-2021 school year. Requests must be in by Tuesday, March 16th at noon via the form below:

O'Maley Midterm Remote vs Hybrid Requests for Term 4

Term 4 begins April 12th and scheduling is a time consuming task. We will try to honor all requests, and a guidance counselor, Mr. Destino, Mr. Hurley, or Ms. Beattie will be in touch if we have questions or are unable to meet your request.

Register for Weekly COVID Testing

We will once again hold Weekly COVID testing tomorrow, and every week through April 18th.

Students who registered previously do not need to re-register.

SAILS Council Upcoming Events

The O'Maley SAILS Council has continued their selection of weekly themes:

March School Sprit Friday Themes are:

3/12 - Sports Day - favorite sports apparel or favorite sports star

3/19 - Dress Like a Teacher (or your favorite O'Maley staff member) Day

3/26 - Favorite Character Day

The Second Annual O'Maley Virtual Talent Show has been postponed. We need more submissions in order to bring the show to life! Interested students should send recordings of performances to their guidance counselor. Once we have enough, we will reschedule.

Even if you do not have a SAILS Council member in your family, there is representation from each homeroom, so encourage your students to share their ideas with reps.

Please Donate to Support GHS Class of 2023

The Class of 2023 is partnering with Angel Bins to collect gently worn or new athletic shoes/sneakers, as well as athletic cleats. There is an Angel Bin located at O'Maley at the front entrance.

Check your family daily for COVID-19 symptoms

As we try to minimize Covid-19 in our community and our schools it is essential that parents/guardians communicate with school if their child is out, sharing the details of why you are keeping your child home.

Below is the full list of symptoms for which caregivers should monitor their children:

  • Fever (100° Fahrenheit or higher), chills, or shaking chills

  • Cough (not due to other known cause, such as chronic cough)

  • Difficulty breathing or shortness of breath

  • New loss of taste or smell

  • Sore throat

  • Headache when in combination with other symptoms

  • Muscle aches or body aches

  • Nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea

  • Fatigue, when in combination with other symptoms

  • Nasal congestion or runny nose (not due to other known causes, such as allergies) when in combination with other symptoms

All Students Must Wear Masks to School.

No Parking on Cherry Street

Please be reminded that the only permitted drop off and pick up area is in the rink parking lot. Parking along Cherry Street is not allowed on either side because it blocks traffic. Residents and passersby have begun to make calls to both DPW and the Gloucester Police Department due to both traffic and safety concerns for our students who walk.

While there is often a line at both arrival and dismissal, it moves quickly. Please be patient and use the provided drop off and pick up areas.
