Principal's Message
I can't believe we are already at the end of February! State testing is just around the corner and we are working hard to make sure our students are growing and prepared for state testing. Many parents ask, "How can I help my child get ready for state testing?" Here are a few resources from the Arizona Department of Education website for you to check out: https://www.azed.gov/assessment/aasa. Included on this website are practice tests, writing samples, and scoring guides.
Another great way to help your child get prepared for testing is to encourage them to write at home every day. When students write, they make important connections to reading and they build stamina to become more fluent writers. Writing at home could include journaling, writing to a prompt, drawing a picture and writing about it, writing directions, writing letters, etc.
As always, please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions!
Kindly,
Lara Olsen, Principal

Have each family member make and decorate their own “Affirmation Box” or bag to display in a central location in your home this month. At least three times a week, write a family member an affirmation and place it in their box. On the last day of the month, ask everyone to read their affirmations and feel the love!

We would need help keeping track of scores at various events and helping the students with instructions on what to do. We are looking forward to seeing you all out there cheering on the students and enjoying the nice spring weather!
