Nurse Notes
We are getting into sick season and here are a few reminders of how to prevent the spread of infection. A true fever is 100.4 or higher. Children must be fever free for 24 hrs without medication to be at school. If your child has been actively vomiting they must also be free of episodes for 24 hrs to be at school. Remember to save absences for when your child is truly sick so that we don't run into attendance problems. We all "just don't feel good" sometimes but it is so easy to get behind if they are missing school. We want the best for every student at HMMS so please get them here if they are well.
- You may send a small hand sanitizer with your student
- Add some hard candy to their backpacks for tickles in the throat
- Send a water bottle that will close and can be refilled so that they stay hydrated
- Encourage students to NOT share food or drinks with their friends
- Make sure your child has a good breakfast and lunch-if they don't like the menu options please send something from home
- Make sure your child is getting enough sleep-that is when the body heals and resets
Let's soar right through this season and be the healthiest school in the county. Go Red Devils!
The Counseling Corner
VIP Girls Group has 80+ girls. That is INCREDIBLE!! We are so excited to get started and get REAL!
October is National Anti-Bullying Month. Bullying is someone being INTENTIONALLY mean for an extended period of time, even after being asked/told to stop. Help us counselors in teaching our students to Respect Everyone! If your student is having an issue with a peer please encourage your student speak up and ADVOCATE for themselves by telling a trusted adult in the building. We are FAM1LY and we are on your students team!
