Thank You
Thank you for being so patient as we wait for information. We know it is difficult to make plans with only a few days notice when waiting to hear the waiver information. As soon as we know information, we will let you know.
We understand the enormous responsibility and challenges that Virtual Learning places on parents, guardians, and students as you had to create time, space, routine, and support for learning at home. We realize that all of our families are experiencing a difficult time and that there are many other needs, in addition to student learning, that are critical as we work through this crisis together.
We want to take the time to honor all of you and your acts of generosity and kindness, patience and resilience, and the fortitude and determination you have demonstrated.
Thank you,
The Hanawalt Staff
Week 3 Family Habit Challenge
This week Leader in Me 7 Habits® with our families. We invite you to use the menu below to select a habit to focus on each week. Consider keeping a family journal to reflect on your learning or track your efforts with photos.
o Option #1
Habit 3: Put First Things First®
Talk about what’s most important to your family. Make a list of your family’s top three Big Rocks (most important priorities).
o Option #2
Habit 4: Think Win-Win®
Make a “wish poster.” Start by drawing a line down the middle of the poster. On one side, record the child’s hopes, dreams, and wishes. On the other side, record the parents’ hopes, dreams, and wishes. Together, look at your wish poster. How can your family work together to make both sets of wishes a reality?

FINAL DAYS!! Read-a-thon 2020: Bingo for Books
We have just a few days left of our read-a-thon. If you haven't yet, we’d love for you to support our efforts to make improvements to both the physical space of the Media Center but also in updating our collection to make it as diverse as our students.
We have 3 different ways that you can donate to our read-a-thon:
· Submit a donation through our Hanawalt PTA store http://hanawaltcommunity.com/product/bingoforbooks/
· Buy books for your home collection through our Follett Book Fair. A portion of each sale goes to our cause https://efairs.follettbookfairs.com/guest/home?classCode=K58R1
· Donate through FollettWish to give funds directly to updating our book collection https://www.titlewish.com/1093669
How is your student doing filling his/her bingo card? We'd love to see progress on the Hanawalt Twitter handle or our PTA facebook page!
