KMS Up2Date
December 18, 2020
Principal's Message
Let me start by wishing the members of the KMS community a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Happy Kwanzaa to those folks celebrating on December 26. And Hanukkah ends this afternoon at sundown and I hope those members of the community who celebrated had a joyous celebration. I am sure that all of us are looking for 2021 to be a better year all around.
Yesterday, December 17, was our first virtual snow day. Mrs. Clifford, Mr. Patota, and I had the opportunity to visit many classes throughout the day. Not only were we impressed by the teaching that we witnessed, we were equally (if not more) impressed by the students. I participated in deep conversations about artists, solving proportions, science experiments, and debating. Students were engaged and productive. You should be proud by the way they are handling the challenges of learning in 2020. Your children are doing a fine job. I am looking forward to be able to visit more classrooms next week.
Speaking of next week, please remember that Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday are now virtual learning days for all students. Students are expected to login to HR daily by 8:30 am and attend classes as usual. Monday - Friday, January 4 - 8, will also be a virtual week for all students. Here's a link to the RIDE website that explains the reason behind this change.
December 22 marks the halfway point of the second quarter. Please contact your child's teachers if you have any concerns regarding grades or assignments. Remember to check the parent portal for grade updates.
The first quarter honor roll has been completed and will be published in The Warren Times.
Have a great weekend,
