Washington D.C. & New York City
Have you heard about the educational travel opportunity to Washington D.C. and New York City for your student at the end of their 8th grade year? Come to an informational meeting on Thursday, October 3rd at 6pm in the AMS library to learn more!
When: June 11-18th, 2020 (current 8th graders), June 2021 (7th graders), and June 2022 (6th graders)
Where: Washington, D.C., Charlottesville, Williamsburg, New York City!
Why: The trip is an incredible opportunity for students to travel to the East Coast for historical learning outside of the classroom and to have a lot of fun!
In the past, this trip was offered every-other-year. However, the program is growing and we are changing it to be an 8th grade only trip, and offered each year, starting 2020. Learn about the travel company we use (ETSI out of Portland) by visiting www.etsi.ws. Create an account and use trip code #2L50 to register!
For more information, please contact Austin Wallace, 7/8th grade language arts teacher and trip leader. 541.482.1611 x3224. Paper registration available in room 304.
AMS parents and Friends Club (PFC)
Dear AMS Parents and Friends, please consider joining the AMS Parents and Friends Club (PFC for short). This is our second year as an open group of AMS Parents, Staff, and Friends who have a similar interest in being involved with the AMS community. Last year, we collaborated several times with Jamie Haden to help with out with school events like Spirit Week and selling concessions at school events. We are open to ideas like fundraising and other fun school events. Membership is free with no requirements and simply involves volunteering for a few activities throughout the year.
A little info about me: I am Amy Merwin and I have an 8th grader at AMS and I teach music at Helman School. Please email me if you have any questions at amymerwin@yahoo.com
Please check this Facebook page for upcoming events and messages.
We will only meet as necessary and our first one will be Tuesday, September 17th at 6pm at Noble Coffee in Ashland (subject to change). Thank you for your support!
