Principal's Message
This will be our last week of online learning. Great job to all of our students, parents, and staff for navigating through uncharted territory over the past several months. Beginning on Tuesday, September 8th we will transition into our Hybrid schedule. Please see below for the schedule of which two days you will attend classes on campus. The hybrid schedule will be in place from September 8th- the 18th. Then on September 21st all students that selected the in-person learning model will report back to campus full-time.
Please remember the following prior to attending classes in person:
1. Before attending campus each day your student must complete a student health assessment- please view the assessment here.
2. Face coverings are required for all students in 1st - 12th grade and employees when on campus and riding our school buses.
3. Students should bring their own refillable water bottle. We have refillable touch-free water stations in each building.
We are extremely excited to see our students on Tuesday, September 8th!
If you have any questions at all please don't hesitate to reach out to us. We are here to help.

Hello AP Students-
It is that time to start registration for your AP exams. If you took an AP exam last year, the registration process will remain the same. There are 2 STEPS to complete to successfully register for an AP Exam. They are outlined here. Students must complete both steps by the deadline to successfully register for an exam. Join codes are provided to the students by AP teachers and should be posted in their Buzz classrooms. The deadline to register without late fees this year is Friday, October 30th. We hope your school year is off to a great start. Please reach out to your AP teacher with any questions you have about the exam.

State Benchmark Assessment: GPS students have been provided with access to the State Benchmark Assessment through their BUZZ platform. Governor Ducey’s Executive Order 2020-21 requires school districts to administer District Benchmarks in both English language arts and Mathematics within the first six weeks of the start of the school year. Campo Verde students should complete the designated assessments in English and Math prior to Friday, September 4th. Students can do this independently, outside of class time. Score reports will not be used for grading, however students are expected to complete the assessment as an assignment. Please check with your student to ensure that they have completed this benchmark.
Annual Update Reminder:
In order to ensure that we can communicate with families regarding their student, or in case of an emergency, it is essential that families keep their emergency contact information up to date in their Infinite Campus account. If you have not filled out the Annual Update, please do so as soon as possible. It is important that every family log into Infinite Campus and complete the Annual Update to ensure we have accurate information for your student. Even if you believe there are no changes to your student’s information, please login and complete the process, so that we may verify your update. Annual Update Instructions are included here for your reference.
Progress Report Grades: 4 1/2 Week Progress Report grades will be updated in Infinite Campus and available to view on September 3rd. For the 20/21 school year, all progress report, quarter, and semester grades will be posted in Infinite Campus. (*Please remember that for this school year, all individual assignments and test scores will be viewable in the BUZZ gradebook.)

Seniors
Lou Coopey Photography regarding the policies and procedures for the upcoming senior photo sessions. Please note that Lou Coopey is our designated studio photographer for our senior portraits which will be featured in the 2020-2021 yearbook. There are 2 options available: Option 1 is at Lou Coopey Studios with multiple photos/styles (for a modest fee). Option 2 is on campus November 10th; one photo (professional dress/no cap and gown) and no sitting fee. Full details below. Please note only photos from Lou Coopey studios will appear in the reference section of the yearbook.
OPTION 1
Schedule an appointment to have your photo taken at the Mesa studio with Lou Coopey before October 1st. Photos must be taken before October 1st to ensure placement in the yearbook.
• To do so, go to www.loucoopey.com then click on the large red banner across the top to book your appointment. To ensure the safety of all seniors we have put in place new COVID protocols for the photo session.
• Social distancing, masks, and hand sanitizing will be required of all customers and staff. All procedures will be as contact-free as possible.
• Dressing rooms, restrooms, and seating areas will be closed to the public.
• Only seniors, six at a time, with appointments will be permitted to enter the studio. No one else may accompany them.
• All studio services beyond the sitting: scheduling, ordering, and paying fees will be conducted online.
• A $40 deposit will be collected at the time of scheduling. This, along with a $10 complimentary coupon will be applied to each account, giving each senior a $50 credit toward the purchase of portraits and services. After 30 days the $10 complimentary credit expires and the $40 remains on account and can be used for any senior portrait purchase.
• Senior sessions will include 9-14 poses on a variety of backgrounds.
• The studio will not provide the usual loaner jackets, ties, shirts and drapes. Seniors will be required to come wearing the school-proscribed dress for senior portraits.
• All post-sitting contact will be done online, including choosing the yearbook pose, ordering, and any payment. Each senior will receive an online access code for their images and $50 credit.
• Cap & gown photos for graduation included. They are sanitized on site in commercial dryers between appointments per CDC sanitation requirements.
OPTION 2 (does not include cap & gown)
For those who do not pick Option 1, we will have an on-campus photo day on November 10th. This option does not allow for cap & gown photos.
• Students must be dressed professionally when they arrive at school that day. This includes a collared shirt with tie and dress shirts, suit coats, dresses, blouses, or other more formal dress.
• For both options, students must adhere to the dress code that includes shirt & tie (jacket highly encouraged), collared shirts, blouses, or dresses. Clothing cannot be transparent and must be free of logos/signage/text. Headwear is not permitted (except in the case of religious or medical purposes).
Failure to book a studio appointment and/or missing the senior on-campus session could result in the senior’s photo not appearing in the yearbook.
Sincerely,
Jeremy Zona
