CRUSADER NEWS THAT YOU CAN USE....
November 29, 2018
This Week's Recap....
Midterm reports will be sent home tomorrow to Grades 1 and up. I will also be emailing these to you for your records. Please review and sign the midterm and return it to school on Monday. This is a PROGRESS REPORT, it is not a report card. However, if your child's grades are poor, it should be a wake up call to you and to your student. The 2nd quarter ends in January so time remains for some grade improvement.
Both K5 classes are singing in church this Sunday, December 2nd. Please bring your K5 children (Mrs. Lee and Ms. B's classes) to meet their teachers in Room 1 at 10:15AM. Our service will begin at 10:30. DO NOT DROP OFF YOUR CHILD AND LEAVE please. Stay and enjoy the service.
I hope that you are taking advantage of having access to Renweb. I do not understand when parents seem to be in the dark about their children's grades and progress because access is available on your computer or on your smartphone 24 hours a day. While things are not always perfect, our teachers do strive to keep grades as up to date as they can. If you need help setting up your Renweb account, please stop by the office or the business office.
On Wednesday evening, we took a few groups of our students to participate in the City of North Miami Tree Lighting and they did a great job! Thank you to the parents who brought their students and to the students who made us proud.
Please be sure to take note of the day of your student(s) Christmas program. All of the students are working very hard on this. Please drop your students off at 6:30PM and then find a seat in the auditorium. Parking will be available in our front and back parking lots, on the street and at Fraternity Baptist Church.

Please do not send your child to school with any of the following:
- Fever within 24 hours
- Vomiting
- Diarrhea
- Unknown Rash
- itchy, red, oozy, crusty or watery eyes
Chaperoning Field Trips
This is now on the back side of all permission slips. if you volunteer to chaperone, please read and sign the reverse side as well to acknowledge that you have read it and understand what we need you to do to help keep our kids cared for:
Chaperone Information:
Our teachers need parents or guardians to volunteer as chaperones for field trips or other activities to help provide proper supervision of the children and to assist the teachers as needed. We appreciate chaperones very much and the children greatly enjoy sharing a field trip or activity with their parent.
If you agree to participate in a field trip or any other school activity as a chaperone, please understand that you are not going on the the trip as a bystander to get service hours. It is required that you be an active participant in the trip or activity.
If you volunteer to be a chaperone, you are agreeing to the following:
You have completed a background check via the link provided to you by Holy Cross Lutheran School.
You are physically able to participate fully in all aspects of the field trip (i.e, you are able to walk or otherwise transport yourself, you can be in the sun if applicable, you can be in the water, etc.)
You will take part in all activities associated in the field trip that are required by the teachers, including but not limited to supervision of children inside and outside, helping with getting on and getting off of the bus, helping to carry materials if needed, helping with lunch, monitoring play areas, being in charge of a small group of children, etc.
You are welcome to ride on the bus if there is room. Otherwise, you must provide your own transportation.
You may not bring siblings with you on the field trip because your attention needs to be on the group of children you are responsible for.
