Hello + Welcome!

Hello and welcome to Hilltop Heritage Elementary School's inaugural issue of our family and community news bulletin! I am Jaime Maxie and I am the proud principal at Hilltop Heritage! I am so excited to be on this journey and cannot wait to meet you all soon!


Our news bulletin will be published weekly beginning in August of 2023. Until then, news bulletins will be published only as new information and updates become available about our new school!

Introducing...

As we embark on the creation of our new school community, we will welcome staff as they are hired this winter and spring. Please see below for our first staff bio (yours truly) and please help us welcome everyone to our community as they join!

Mrs. Maxie | Principal

I have been an educator for 24 years (22 in Renton) in a number of roles including teacher, counselor, instructional coach, assistant principal, and principal. My husband, Rodney, and I live with our two children, Mason (6th grade) and Maya (3rd grade) near Lake Tapps and our oldest daughter, Alexis, lives nearby with her husband. We love to spend time at the beach, riding ATVs, traveling, and spending time at home with our Goldendoodle, Baxter. I am so excited to be serving the students and families at Hilltop Heritage Elementary and I look forward to meeting you all very soon!

Hiring!

The hiring process has officially begun with the posting of multiple positions. Open and posted are the positions of Assistant Principal, Office Manager, Primary Teacher, Intermediate Teacher, Librarian, Literacy Coach, Math Coach, Music Teacher, PE Teacher, School Counselor, and Special Education Teacher. More positions to follow. Assistant Principal Interviews will take place in January, Office Manager interviews will take place in February, and Teacher interviews will begin shortly thereafter.

School Boundaries

In preparation for our opening in the fall of 2023, the boundaries for elementary schools on the East Hill need to be redrawn. Elementary school boundaries to be examined as part of the new school are Hazelwood, Highlands, Honey Dew, Kennydale, Maplewood Heights, and Sierra Heights. (Boundaries for middle and high schools will not be examined.) A committee of parents from those schools and district staff will work from late November through early March to create boundaries for Hilltop Heritage Elementary.
