A Monthly Communication to Madison Families
Hello Madison Families,
Thank you,
Juan Gaona-Principal
Melissa Van Straten-Assistant Principal
Family/Teacher Conferences
Conferences will happen during the month of May through phone or Zoom. Teachers will contact families. The goal of the conference is to check-in with families and give an update on how learning is progressing.
Paper Health Attestation
Please continue to fill out the paper health attestation and send it with your child to school each day. Please do not use the option in Skyward as this option is not monitored.
State Testing
State Superintendent Chris Reykdal has decided Washington state will not administer Smarter Balanced Assessments (SBA) or the Washington Comprehensive Assessment of Science (WCAS) in spring 2021. Instead, students in third through fifth grades will take the SBA this fall. Fifth grade students will also take the WCAS this fall.
Specialist Work
Please continue to ensure that your child is completing their asynchronous work for Health, Library, Music, and Physical Education each week. Lessons will continue to be delivered weekly through students’ Google Classrooms and students will receive a participation score on their report card for each of these areas.
STAR Testing
All students will be taking the STAR testing for math and reading in both Spanish and English sometime between May 10 and June 4th. If your child is in 3rd-5th grade, your child’s teacher will be asking them to bring their Chromebooks to school in order to take the assessments.
Important Dates
