Lady Indians Make History at State Finals
Despite a tough 68-43 loss at Saturday’s IHSAA state finals, the Union City Lady Indians basketball team made history just being there. Playing for a state championship was not only a first for the school in any sport, but was also the first time a girls basketball team made it that far from Randolph County.

New Banner for the Cheer Squad
The 2015-16 Union City cheerleaders started off the competition season in August by winning the longest running cheer competition at the Indiana State Fair. Next they competed at the state cheerleading competition in October at Lucas Oil Stadium. They competed in the morning and received a berth to the finals that evening. They placed the highest they have ever done by placing 4th. The ladies in red finished their amazing year by winning the TEC competition in March.
The Union City Cheerleaders have been State qualifiers every year they have competed from 2013 to 2016.
