MVHS Named a California Distinguished School

Mission Vista was recently named a California Distinguished School by the CA Department of Education. This honor is given to schools who have demonstrated outstanding academic achievement and evidence of closing achievement gaps, and this year, MVHS is one of just six high schools in North County to earn the award.

Many, many kudos to all of our students, teachers, and staff for their hard work and dedication!

Survey for 11th Grade Students

Each year, Vista Unified partners with UCSD to survey stakeholders about their experiences within our schools. The results of the survey help us to better understand the school climate and inform decisions made at the district and school-site levels. There are unique surveys for parents, students, teachers, and staff members.

At the high school level, we target juniors as survey respondents, and I am including a link to the survey below. Juniors, please take a moment to share your feedback.

Vaccinations Available to Interested Students Over the Age of 16

As you may be aware, the COVID-19 vaccination is now available to all individuals age 16 and older. This means that many of our students are eligible to receive the vaccine. The decision to vaccinate your child is a personal choice and is not a requirement to attend school.

The County of San Diego offers these reasons why young people should get a vaccine.

● COVID-19 vaccines are the safest way to acquire protection from the COVID-19 virus

● While less likely, young people may still suffer serious symptoms or long-term effects

from COVID-19

● Younger adult age groups tend to get infected first and spread the infection to more

vulnerable members of our community

● The more vaccinated individuals our community has, the less opportunity there is for

variant strains to spread or occur

If you are intersted, please check out the fliers below:
