A Message from Dr. Manola
Hello, Leyden families!
Happy Friday! Today marks the end of four weeks of classes; it is incredible how quickly this year is starting. With that, I'm not sure we can say thank you enough for your partnership, support, and collaboration as we work together with the same goal in mind - making sure all of our students are successful. This school year certainly has been unlike any other we've ever experienced, but one thing remains consistent; we are in this together.
As we head towards mid-September, we are excited to join you with just a few quick reminders and updates:
-Don't forget, Parent-Teacher Conferences take place this coming Tuesday, September 15. See the information below on how to sign-up.
-Our buildings are still open every day for your students' to come in for a quiet, safe place to connect and get work done. Students need to click here to sign up.
-Beginning last week, Leyden is offering free meals to anyone in the community 18 years old and younger; no ID is needed. Please see a list of available pick-up locations here.
-As a District, we are continually evaluating the state of the COVID-19 pandemic to ensure that we can return as quickly and as safely as possible to in-person learning. Please look for regular communication and updates as they relate to District plans and information.
Finally, this morning, I'd like to take a moment to recognize and acknowledge this somber day in American History. Nineteen years ago, our days began like they so often do, yet everything changed just as the morning was getting started. For all of us, 9/11 brings back different emotions, memories, and feelings, all of which are important and powerful. Whether you were with your family, at work, with friends, a student yourself, supporting colleagues, or witnessing everything on your own, the moments of 9/11 are most certainly etched in your mind.
Today, we'd like to acknowledge and honor all of those lost that horrible day, from the many victims to the first responders and everyone involved, and ask everyone to pause, even for a moment.
Thank you for all you do, and most importantly, for your partnership. Please let us know if you need anything! Stay well,
Dr. Dominic M. Manola
Principal

Students must sign-up to access the building as attendance will be taken. Spaces will be limited. Parents/guardians will be contacted if a student does not arrive for their scheduled time.
Hours
Students have the opportunity to sign up for Session 1, Session 2, or both. Students are expected to stay for the entire duration of their session.
Session 1: 9:00 a.m. - 11:45 a.m
Session 2: 12:15 p.m. - 2:30 p.m.
Students may stay for Office hours from 2:30 p.m. to - 3:10 p.m. if needed. A late bus will run at 3:15 p.m. to get students home.
Students who are using these spaces should proceed directly to them and must wear a mask at all times. Additionally, social distancing must be practiced. Student workspaces will be spaced out and provide up to 45 or less workspaces per space to comply with regulations regarding group sizes of 50 or less in any one space. Staff will also be present for supervision in these spaces.

Counselors' Corner
Student Contact Information
During remote learning, it is more important than ever for counselors, social workers, and deans to be able to communicate with students directly. By providing your child's cell phone number, members of your child's team will be able to connect and share important information without having to contact the parent first.
