And So It Begins....
I want to welcome both our returning and new students and parents. Alta Mesa is a special place where our goal is to enrich the hearts and minds of our students. In order to achieve our goal and maximize our student's experience at Alta Mesa, we ask our parents to partner with us. The partnership between school and home is integral to student success. A big aspect of the home-to-school connection is schoolwide communication. As a principal, I utilize several different ways to communicate with parents. Each week I send out this newsletter "Sundays From The Mesa," as the main point of reference for parents. All information that parents need will be included in this newsletter each week. Each Sunday I send out the newsletter through email and text. I also send out a Sunday phone call with a summary of the key highlights. Please make sure to read through the weekly newsletter for the most up-to-date information.
Our first day of school is only a little over a week away. Remember to read through this newsletter to get all of the important information. It's going to be a great year!!!

First Day of School is August 17th!!

Office Remodel/Temporary Office The office remodel is nearing completion. We are excited to have our new office as it provides increased campus security and more space for teacher/parent/student meetings. Our contractor is working to get our office completed by August 15th. Until that time our office is temporarily in the library with access through the kindergarten gate. If the new office is not completed by the first day of school our temporary office will move to the district ACE office on the east side of campus. We will keep our parents in the loop as the project moves forward. Our office is now open to the public from 7am- 4pm. | Back to School Night Back to School Night will be a little different this year. Instead of waiting till the second or third week of school, we will have our Back to School Night on the second day of school. Back to School night will be on August 18th, from 5:30-7:00. We will start with some remarks and staff introductions in the gym at 5:30 and classroom presentations starting at 6:00. Back to School Night is for parents to meet their child's teacher and learn how the classroom operates. | Kinder and 1st Grade Meet and Greet We always create space for our youngest students to find their classrooms and meet their teachers prior to the first day of school. This allows them to feel more comfortable and know where to go and who to connect with when they start school. Our kindergarten and 1st-grade classrooms will be having a meet and greet on Tuesday, August 16th from 11:30-12:30. When arriving for the Meet and Greet, please enter through the kindergarten playground. |
