News and Notes
- 5 Essentials survey is now available for families! The survey measures student, staff, and family perceptions regarding the school. Please go to https://survey.5-essentials.org/illinois/ to take the survey.
- Our PTO will meeting twice on Tuesday December 3rd-once at 8:30 a.m. and again at 6:00 p.m. Both meetings will be held at the school. We have a lot of wonderful activities we are planning and we value your input and talents. Please contact our PTO President, Michelle Hubble at maudesanderspto@gmail.com or our Assistant Principal, Maureen Langholf at maureen.langholf@psd150.org for more information.
- Parents wishing to visit a classroom during the school day will need to clear it with their student's teacher prior to the visit. Office staff will not allow visitors to classrooms unless this has been verified. The reason for doing this is to ensure that there are minimal disruptions to the classroom throughout the day. We would also like to remind parents and visitors to only enter and exit through the main doors on Forrest Hill. Thank you for you cooperation and understanding as we work to keep our school safe.
- While we want all of our students to be at school, on time, and ready to learn, if they are sick with vomiting, fever, or a contagious illness, please keep them home and call the school to report the absence. Also please be sure to remind students of good hygienic practices such as hand washing after restroom use and before eating and covering their faces when they cough or sneeze. Thank you for your help in keeping all of us healthy!
- Remind your students to read at least 20 minutes at home and fill out their reading logs! Studies show that there are numerous benefits for doing so and it is a great habit to start. Students in Kindergarten, 1st, or 2nd grade who are in Waterford may use their time on the program to count towards their reading logs.
- We will have our Santa Express shop for students on December 12th and 13th. More information will be coming home about this soon.
- On Thursday December 12th we are going to have our Family Movie Night at 5:30 p.m. in the gymnasium. Students may bring sleeping bags or a blanket to lay on the floor with and curl up to the Polar Express!
- Our Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grade students will be performing their Winter Concert on Friday December 13th starting at 9:15 a.m. We hope to see you there!
- Friday December 20th will be the last day before Winter Break with school dismissing at 2:30 p.m.
