Cave of the Winds
by Kait
Where is it?
The Cave of the Winds is a cave in the Pikes Peak region of Colorado. it was discovered in 1881. Why is it called Cave of the Winds? Because the Indians belived there was a Great Spirit of the Winds. Later in time two men came and wanted to discover what made their candles flicker.
Is it fun to go to?
YES!
There are stalagtites and stalagmites all over the place. some even look like little tiny mountains that are upside down! You can also get a great example of how water can erode rock too. (thats good for school!)
