Mrs. Frishe's Prek Class

January 18, 2016

Welcome to Our New Friend!

We are happy to welcome Ambree to our WRES PreK family! Ambree is a wonderful addition to our class. We are so glad to have her with us. Our students have done a great job of showing her around our class and how we do things. Welcome Ambree!

Mark Your Calendars!

Willis Road families are invited to our Family Dance on Friday, February 5th. Details will be coming home soon.

I am excited to announce that we have booked our in-house field trip with the Reptile Wrangler. He will be coming to our class on Tuesday, March 8, and will be bringing lots of interesting critters with him. Permission slips for you to indicate whether your child may participate or not will be coming home in February. I will also send home a list of the animals that we will have in our classroom. Some are look only, some are touch only, and some are touch and hold.

This Week in PreK

Friday was the close of our two week unit on penguins. Be sure to ask your student some of the interesting facts they learned about these flightless birds. They worked really hard.

Beginning Tuesday we will be studying Martin Luther King, Jr. and ways we can be kind to one another. Thursday will be our 100th day of school. We will celebrate with a special snack, counting to 100 and a few other fun surprises.

We will begin our unit on hibernation next week which will include a pajama and teddy bear day (date TBD). Our class will learn about animals that hibernate, why, and how.

Our Valentine's Day party will be on Friday, February 12th, the last Friday before mid-winter break. A signup genius will go out shortly for party snacks.

Fun in Learning Centers

We still do not have a cold weather change of clothes for some of our students. Some do not have long pants to change into. Accidents aren't limited to the bathroom. Food or beverages could get spilled during lunch or snack; students could fall down in the muddy edges around our playground. If you're not sure if you have sent them in yet, you can always email or text me and I will let you know.
