K-Beach Elementary

A Message from Mrs. Van Slyke

Dear Parents and Guardians,

We have had a wonderful start to our school year and student behavior has been excellent! This does not happen by accident. Thank you for your positive influence in developing the character of your child.

As a school, we focus on acknowledging and reinforcing positive behavior. Compliments have a direct impact on the success students and classes have in reaching their behavior goals.

Thank you for your continued support!

PBIS Update from Mrs. Kvamme

Our Caribou Herd has been working hard to meet school expectations! Each time a child or a class is noticed for doing the right thing, they are recognized by earning a pom pom. Each class collects their pom poms and brings them down to put them in our school jar. Our Caribou Herd has been doing such a good job that we already filled our school jar with hundreds of pom poms! We celebrated by rewarding each class with an extra recess. Students enjoyed the extra play time. Many classes played on parts of the playground that they don't normally visit. Way to go, Caribou!

Caribou Migration Fundraiser

Big picture
Our Caribou Migration will be held on October 8th.

To give your child the best educational experience possible, we are excited to raise funds for help in purchasing Chromebooks and software to meet our 1 to 1 goal of providing this support to each of our students. To do this, we are having our Great Caribou Migration Fun Run! Family and friends anywhere in the world can support our school by giving donations to our students.

You may donate funds through snap-raise.com or send a check made out to K-Beach Elementary.

Halloween

Our last day of school leading up to Halloween is Wednesday, October 27th. Your child's classroom teacher will communicate with you regarding Halloween plans for your child. It will be up to the classroom teacher as to whether or not costumes will be allowed or if there will be a class celebration. Please remember that costumes should be school appropriate and play weapons are not allowed. If your child's class is having a celebration and you are sending in food, please be sure that treats are store-bought. Please contact your child's teacher if you have any questions.
