A Message from Ms. Lilly
RNE Newsletter February 15, 2018
The Principal's office
Dear RNE Family,
This has been a week filled with celebrations at RNE. We are fortunate to have a building full of dedicated professionals. This makes selecting the Teacher and Professional of the year a daunting task.
I am pleased to announce our Teacher and Professional Employees of the Year, Ms. Blount in 2nd Grand and Mrs. Wagner our CST.
Tomorrow is a school day for students to make up for our fall hurricane. Monday is still a holiday.
I will be sharing information in the next two weeks regarding our digital learning day in March.
Enjoy the long weekend!
Maureen

SGC Elections
Roswell North Elementary School will be electing representatives to serve on the School Governance Council. We will be electing one parent/guardian position and one teacher position for our spring election. Our School Governance Council has a leadership role in the governance of the school. The Council works with the principal in setting the long-term vision and strategy for the school. They are responsible for approving the school’s strategic plan and budget recommendations, as well as designing innovative solutions to increase academic achievement and meet the unique needs of our school community.
Elections for the parent/guardian and teacher positions on the School Governance Council will be held March 19th-March 23rd. Candidates interested in running for an elected position on the Council must complete a candidate declaration form and submit by February 23rd.
Candidate forms may be submitted electronically or by mail (get a copy of the form from the school’s front office and follow mailing instructions on the back of the form).

Used Book Sale
Each May, we hold a sale just before the summer break so that kids can stock up on summer reading. We are in serious need for used books to be able to hold this year's sale.
The books generally cost between 25-50 cents, which provides an opportunity for all children to have have access to affordable reading material for the break.
Our book supply is really low this year and we are hoping RNE families will donate books they are no longer reading.
All kids' books, puzzles, board games and magazines are welcome! We also need lots of cookbooks. We sold over 200 cookbooks last year -- the kids love bringing them home for Mother's Day.
Books can be dropped off in the office at any time or if you have a large load, please contactheathersnell21@gmail.com.
Thanks in advance!
International Night is approaching!
