Leopard Spotlight!

Maria Carrero is the Leopard Spotlight winner for 3.17.23. Ms. Carerro came in this semester ready to hit the ground running and has been nothing but successful in her efforts. She brings a lot of new and innovative ideas to the classroom and her team. She has a passion for immersing students in the language and culture they are studying. Ms.Carerro believes deeply in all of her students, holds them to a high expectation, and provides a wealth of assistance to help them achieve their goals. Thank you for all you do Ms. Carerro. School Day SAT testing

On Wednesday, March 22, 2023, our 11th graders will be taking the School Day SAT. The test was funded through the legislature and will be given at no cost to your student. All testing will take place at LHS and students should arrive no later than 8:45 am. Students who are testing should also bring a pencil and their own calculator. Upon conclusion of testing, 11th graders will go to lunch and then resume their regular class schedule for the remainder of the day. We will have classes for 9th, 10th, and 12th graders and students should report to campus at their regular time.


Class assignments will be posted in the Commons and outside the Library when students arrive.

Junior/Senior Prom

Tickets for the 2023 LHS Junior and Senior Prom have officially gone on sale. You can use the link or QR code below to purchase your tickets now. Prices will go up periodically as we get closer to the event, so make sure to get your tickets early. If your student plans to bring a date to the event who is not a Lovejoy ISD high school student, you will need to fill out this visitor form. Within this form you will also see a link to an additional Google Form that needs to be filled out, as well. We need both to ensure the proper documentation of guests, which in turn ensures our student's safety.

AP Exams

If your student is enrolled in AP courses, they should be registered on the College Board’s myAP website for each AP course for which they are enrolled. Most students have already successfully registered for the AP exams at school.


The cost for most AP exams is $97.00 per test. Capstone courses- AP Seminar and AP Research- are $145.00 each.

To verify the payment amount, please click here and enter your student's id number. Anyone choosing to pay with a credit card through this link will incur a 4.16% service charge.

March is National Athletic Training Month

As a part of the health care team, services provided by athletic trainers include primary care, injury and illness prevention, wellness promotion and education, emergent care, examination and clinical diagnosis, therapeutic intervention and rehabilitation of injuries and medical conditions. Our high school and middle school athletic trainers, as well as our student athletic trainers, devote their time and energy to ensuring the health and safety of our student athletes throughout the year.

Volleyball Spring Clinic

Join Lovejoy Volleyball on April 30th for a spring clinic to raise funds for the prestigious Ann Kang Invitational in Honolulu, Hawaii. This clinic will be run by National Gatorade Player of the Year, Averi Carlson and our 2023 Varsity Team. K-6th grade will go from 1:00-3:00 and 7th and 8th grade will for from 3:30-5:30, both at LHS. Spots will be $125 each with a t-shirt included. Be sure to sign up quickly as there are limited spots for each session.

Attendance Task Force Weekly Report

Attendance continues to be a top priority for Lovejoy ISD. It should come as no surprise that attendance has a direct relationship with student learning. Additionally, public school funding is provided by the State of Texas based on each district's average daily attendance (ADA).


Lovejoy has developed an Attendance Task Force consisting of staff, parents, and students to formulate ideas about how to positively impact ADA in our district. One suggestion is to update the community via weekly principal communication on the number of absences each campus has accrued YTD along with the budgetary impact of those absences. Student Sign-Out (Driver and Parent Pick-Up)

If your student needs to leave campus for any reason, please send sign-out requests to LHSSignout@lovejoyisd.net. Your student will get a slip and be dismissed at the specified time. Please include the student's name, time they need to be dismissed, and any details we may need. We kindly ask that the requests are submitted as far in advance as possible.

Computer Science Team

The Computer Science Team traveled to Houston on Saturday, March 4, to compete in the national programming competition "Code Wars" at Hewlett Packard. LHS was represented by two teams; an advanced team of Hannah Mao, Joshua James and Cameron Coleman as well as a novice team consisting of Auburnae Williams, Shilohk Navaneethakrishnan, and Nolan Finnigan. Both teams finished in the top 10% of the over three hundred teams that competed.

Boys Soccer

Your Leopards Boys Soccer Team were crowned District Champions and will have the number one seed for district 13-5A heading into playoffs. Playoff information TBA.

Girls Soccer

The varsity girls soccer team finish the regular season with a record of 14-3-1 (10-2) and a second place finish in district. This is the fifth year in a row the girls have qualified for playoffs. The team's first round game will be next week vs. Corsicana at a time and location to be determined.

Last Friday the JV team completed their season. The girls finished with a record of 7-4-2 (7-2-1) and a 2nd place finish in district. Throughout the season the JV team saw a lot of growth and will continue to build on their successful season.

UIL One Act Play

Congratulations to Lovejoy Theatre who competed in UIL One Act Play at Denison High on March 4, 2023 and advanced on to Bi-District!
Special awards went to Elizabeth Esposito (Honorable Mention All Star Technician), Jillian Nuckels (Honorable Mention- All Star Cast), and Reece Robinson (All Star Cast.
The next round will take place at Denison High School on March 22, 2023. The contest starts at 10 am and Lovejoy is the first, followed by Red Oak, Corsicana, Melissa, Princeton, and Forney.
We are proud of our student's character both on-stage and off. We wish the company of Nevermore, BREAK A LEG!

The Leopard Fishing team had a great showing at our last regular tournament of the season at Lake Texoma on Saturday despite the wind. The majority of our teams were able to weigh in fish and landed Leopard Fishing 3rd place overall. Congratulations to those finishing in the top 26 out of 187 boats.

Of the 20 teams in the AT&T Metroplex High School Hockey League, Lovejoy had 4 players named to the Academic Honor Roll and one player named on the Top 10 Academic Honor Roll. The three Lovejoy students named to the Academic Honor Roll are: Samuel Chen, Christian Giordano and Nicky Terranova. The one Lovejoy student named to the Top 10 Academic Honor Roll and who will be honored on ice by the Dallas Stars on April 6th is Jake Schuler. Scholarships

The Parent-Teacher Organizations in the Lovejoy Independent School District each will award one $500 scholarship to a college bound senior graduating from Lovejoy High School in 2023. This centralized application means that each student completes the application ONCE, but is eligible for PTO scholarships through the Lovejoy schools they attended (plus the Lovejoy Council and Preschool PTO).


All student applicants (a) must have attended LHS during their sophomore, junior, and senior years; (b) be a member of the LHS Parent-Teacher-Student-Organization (PTSO); (c) complete the online scholarship application, including the essays; (d) upload a resume; and (e) have one letter of recommendation submitted.

To apply for the scholarship, students must complete the application by clicking on the link button below.

The form at the link will allow students to exit and return to the application in case they cannot complete it in one sitting.

Outstanding Service Awards

The Lovejoy Council of PTOs will be recognizing two special individuals at Lovejoy High School who have given outstanding service to our children this year. This recognition is one of the highest honors which can be bestowed upon an individual by our PTSO. The only requirement for receiving this honor is that the recipient has promoted students’ well-being and demonstrated care for children.


A nominee for recognition may be a parent, volunteer, teacher, administrator, or a community leader. The recipient is not required to be a PTSO member.

If you would like to nominate someone for this award, please fill out the form below. The recognition committee will carefully consider each candidate.
