CONTENT RESOURCE ROOMS

Hello Dragon Families!

For the next few weeks I plan to share a little more detail about each of the work zones at school. The basic idea with our school structure is that students have the flexibility to go where they need to go to assist their learning.

This week's focus is the content resource areas. With our new flexible seating, students are encouraged to visit the content resource area that matches what they are working on. For example, when working on math, students should work in the math resource area (Mr.Jon). We also have a resource area for science and business (Mr. Mike) and social studies (Ms. Melissa).

Work in the content resource rooms is collaborative. We believe learning is a social act and that students should have opportunities to talk about their learning with their peers as well as the advisor. Students are encouraged to work together in the content resource rooms, sharing ideas, seeking feedback, or getting assistance when they struggle.

It is important that a student does not spend a large amount of time sitting in one content resource room with the same people. Students are expected to move throughout the school to the areas of their work and will be reminded to do so if they are seen "camping out" somewhere. Our goal is to provide a collaborative environment where students can experience more active, hands on learning.

As a reminder, the Individual Work Zone (The Quiet Zone) is available when students want or need to work quietly.

If you have questions or concerns about the flexible seating structure, please feel free to contact me to discuss further.

Thank you for being a dragon! We appreciate you and we believe in you.

With gratitude,

Jen + the JDAL Staff

Event Information

Operation Finale: An Incredible True Story

Students will learn more about this event during morning circles leading up the field experience. Following the film, students will be encouraged to create a project based on what they have learned.

Synopsis: Fifteen years after the end of World War II, a team of top-secret Israeli agents travels to Argentina to track down Adolf Eichmann, the Nazi officer who masterminded the logistics that brought millions of Jews to their deaths in concentration camps. Hoping to sneak him out of the country to stand trial, a Mossad agent soon finds himself playing a deadly game of cat and mouse with the notorious war criminal.

Operation Finale tells the true story of the hunt for one of the worst war criminals in the known history of the world. It is a straightforward, old-fashioned spy caper, steeped in the nuts-and-bolts of bringing one man home alive to answer for the crimes of the Third Reich.
