DISCOVERY SCHOOL AT FOUR CORNERS
JANUARY 2021
FROM THE PRINCIPAL'S DESK
I hope you all enjoyed the break and had opportunities for relaxation and fun. The first day back after the winter break always feels a little like the first day of school in September. This year's transition back felt more challenging than usual for many. We'll be taking the first days to reestablish our communities based on the Responsive Classroom practices. We'll review expectations, routines, and goals then dive right into our academic work. The second quarter comes to a conclusion at the end of the month and report cards will be sent home shortly after.
January is a month packed with rigorous thinking and learning. As with any month, appropriate sleep, good exercise, and healthy eating will be important in their growth and development.
Thank you for all you do to support our students and school!
Happy New Year!
Caissie Putnam

FROM OUR SCHOOL NURSE
This is your Discovery School nurse, Pam Owen, RN writing to encourage you to get yourself and your children vaccinated for the flu. The best reason to get a flu shot, even if you have never gotten one
before, is that protection from the flu helps all those around you by slowing its contagion and limiting its severity. During the current coronavirus pandemic, flu vaccination is all the more important for staying healthy and conserving needed health care services.
Call your doctor or visit your pharmacy for a flu vaccine as soon as possible.
