Inspiring Education and Innovation
In partnership with family and community, Woodridge School District 68 provides a comprehensive educational foundation for all children in a safe, caring environment, preparing them to be productive, responsible, and successful members of society.
We have a system of positive reinforcement in place where we show appreciation for the behaviors that we as staff deemed important and in accordance with our school-wide expectation. We ought to spend more time on the positive reinforcement of appropriate behaviors than on the identification of negative ones.
Got PRIDE? Of Course We Do!
I worked late Thursday and was in on Friday to organize a joint effort to focus on the positive things our students are doing. Every staff member from Mr. Watters, to our bus driver, to our substitute, to our office staff, to our teacher, to our principal, has 36 PRIDE tickets waiting for them to be distributed on Monday. All together, we will distribute over 1,600 tickets on Monday! I will follow that up with 36 more PRIDE tickets, each day of the week. In all, we will distribute 8.000 PRIDE tickets next week! That is an average of about 20 tickets per student! I am anxious to see the outcomes that stem from this effort.
Staff Appreciation
We Have a Few Important Items To Do
- Grade level teachers, please let me know which teacher will teach science and which will teach social studies so that I can send those names to Greg (grades 1 -4). It is needed by Tuesday.
- All certified staff need to send me a list of needs and wants so that I can submit a budget to Central Office. I need that by Tuesday at 8:00 a.m. It will take me time to gather all input, so your attention to this is important. I need to submit the budget by April 20. Refer to the e-mail I sent on 4/13 at 9:49 a.m.
- Complete the self-reflection, if not completed, by 5/15. I will schedule meetings with staff to discuss the self-reflections. Expect a date sent to you. The date will be prior to 5/15. Though a date will be scheduled, you have until May 15th to complete the self-reflection.
