The Riebli Record
Janaury 22, 2021
A note from Mrs. Todd
Hi Riebli Community,
I hope that 2021 is treating you all well so far. We're still doing our best over here to come up with creative ideas to keep your students engaged and actively learning. Please know that we are all holding on to hope that in the months ahead, we will see a significant decrease in COVID cases across the county, a vaccine that is available to all, warmer weather, and healthy families ready to return to school. I know this is not how any of us planned on spending the 2020-21 school year. Our staff deeply misses the daily interactions with students and families in person. We miss all the things that once filled our days: bustling hallways, rowdy recesses, lunch in the sunshine, learning in all our creative spaces, small group instruction and whole class meetings, assemblies, hugs, and even our terrible parking lot. We miss it all. And especially your children. To our K families who we have not had the pleasure of building these memories with in person, we will make it up to you.
During the inauguration this week, I was truly touched by the words from the Poet Laureate. “We will raise this wounded world into a wondrous one ... There is always light, if only we’re brave enough to see it. If only we’re brave enough to be it.” – National Youth Poet Laureate Amanda Gorman. We will rise from distance learning into a better world. We will appreciate the little things. We will hug our loved ones a little longer. We will enjoy things that were routine in the past. We will perserve.
It is with tears in my eyes, a full heart, a hopeful outlook, and a promise of better days ahead that I wish you all a wonderful rest of your week. Be Brave and be someone's light!

Monthly Parent Meetings
To be honest, I don't feel my parent meetings in the evening are the most effective way to answer of all of your questions. I have been brainstorming how to make this more effective for you and your time.
So, I have created a google form for you to write your questions in and then I will answer via email and in a video shared by all.
Feel free to also email me any questions you may have.
The question was: How does the vaccine affect reopening? Is it required? Will teachers/staff have a choice?
The answer: Vaccines are not mandated, but feedback from staff is that they are ready to be vaccinated. The vaccine will make a positive impact on our return to school along with a positive impact on moving Sonoma County into the Red Tier, where schools are allowed to open. (Click here for a video about school's reopening info)
Keep the questions coming!
