Reminders of Campus Polices and Procedures
Take everyday preventive actions to stop the spread of germs
- Try to avoid close contact with sick people.
- While sick, limit contact with others as much as possible to keep from infecting them.
- If you are sick with flu-like illness, CDC recommends that you stay home for at least 24 hours after your fever is gone except to get medical care or for other necessities. (Your fever should be gone for 24 hours without the use of a fever-reducing medicine.)
- Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze. After using a tissue, throw it in the trash and wash your hands.
- Wash your hands often with soap and water. If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand rub.
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth. Germs spread this way.
- Clean and disinfect surfaces and objects that may be contaminated with germs like flu.

Math News
This is a little plaque in a math classroom and it couldn’t be more true for building mathematicians.Math is such a foundational subject that continues to build upon itself every hour, every day and every year. Below is a reminder of the many options to help support math as students progress in middle school math! Keep perserving Lions!!!!
- Ensure students know their math facts! Practice memorization of multiplication tables. It's extremely difficult to build students as proportional thinkers without multiplication in middle school. Feel free to use old school flash cards or find an APP for that! Google Play and Apple's App Store have plenty for multiplication facts! 10-15 minutes per day at least! - Encourage students to attend tutorials on a regular basis. Tutorials are not just for struggling students. Tutorials are a great resource for just extra practice and a place to do your homework (with your teacher there, just in case!)
- Use an online resource for seeing concepts again! MathAntics is a favorite and an easy watch! Check out https://www.mathantics.com/ for many topics! Important topics continue to be: Fractions, Decimals, Ratios and Proportions, and Integer Arthimetic! Also Khan Academy has excellent resources for practice and videos
Current Topics to study:
6th Math - Ratios, Rates and coming soon Percents! Finding Part, Whole and Percent of numbers
7th Math - Solving two step equations and inequalities. (for PreAP, add two step equations with variables on both sides, combining like terms and distributive property)
8th Math - Pythagorean Theorem
Algebra - Systems of Equations
