Monday Morning Memo - Week 32
4/28/19
Dear Poupard Leaders,
Planning for 19-20 and so on...
As I did last year, I will be checking in with staff members this week to begin discussing where they see themselves next year, what they are hoping for themselves 3 and 5 years down the road. This is a great opportunity for you to share your aspirations or openness in teaching different grade levels and/or positions. I look forward to touching base with you all this week and hearing your future plans!
Sub Positions
As I'm sure many of you have realized that it has been quite difficult finding substitute teachers. The district was short 16 subs this past Friday. Mondays and Fridays are usually our most difficult days to fill open positions. Please do your best to enter your absences into AESOP as soon as you can to increase our chances of getting the position filled. Additionally, Cindy can make adjustments to absences after they have been created (date, time, reason, etc) if you make any mistakes or are unsure.
Door Duty
I appreciate our staff engaging and sharing their input during this past weeks staff meeting. One piece that is within our circle of control as we prepare for our toughest kids is supervision. Students are far less likely to make poor decisions when adults are nearby. I'm passing along the door duty responsibilities that were shared in beginning of the year to remind us all of those supervision duties. You can door duty responsibilities by clicking here.
Some Highlights:
- All homeroom teachers should be at their grade level doors by 8:15
- All other staff should report to their assigned locations based on their letter day assigned
- Additional assignments next to asterisks for 4th and 5th grade (may decide to rotate teachers weekly, bi-weekly, monthly)
Michigan Virtual
On May 6, we will continue our Social Emotional Learning Modules as required by the Michigan Health Model Pilot. Teachers will need to create a login to Michigan Virtual. Please have this completed prior to May 6th so we can use our PLC time efficiently. Teachers will earn SCECH's for the online modules we'll be completing. You will be required to enter your PIC number while registering to earn those SCECH's.

Title 1 Orders (updated)
I'm sorry to announce that our Title 1 orders were delayed due to a processing issue. The issue has been resolved and the orders will sporadically be delivered starting in the middle of may through end of June. I truly appreciate your patience in receiving these tools!
Looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow!
Your Fan,
Ali

Nuts and Bolts - Updated 4/28/19
Behavior Referrals
Behavior Referrals must be completed using the Online Behavior Form. Staff must complete the behavior form anytime a student is sent down to the office for a major office referral. Homeroom Teachers and Special Area Teachers are responsible for contacting the family to notify them of any incidents that occurred inside of the classroom. Please call home over an email whenever possible. Personally, I'd recommend sharing anything over 3-4 sentences over a phone call as well.
Emergency Sub-Plans
Over the next couple weeks, take some time to update your sub-plans inside the office. I ask this for a few reasons:
1. The office has had to scramble over the last couple of weeks
2. We don't currently have them for every teacher
3. It's been challenging finding quality subs as of late
4. Previous sub-plans may be outdated, which could lead to negative student behavior if the tasks are too easy or unappealing
