4th Grade eLearning!
May 4-8
We are so proud of you and your hard work these past few weeks. KEEP IT UP!
Missing each of you and hoping you are all doing well. Looking forward to next year when we can all be together again!
You know how I love to read to you and visit your classes. Since that isn't possible right now, I thought I would record some stories for you to enjoy.
I hope you don't mind...I also asked my dogs: Augie, Mac, and Tank to pop in every so often. They really enjoy that I am working from home...so I thought, they could do a little work from home too!
Some are stories and some are poems. I think you might even enjoy some activities that can go with them. (You can draw the characters from 'The Tale of Custard the Dragon' and send them to me if you like.)
(A special thank you to Mrs. Calaza who taught me how to help Augie, Mac, and Tank find their voices!)
Hugs from afar...but know you are always close in my heart!

Student Work and Grading
Students Submitting Work:
As you know, we are flexible with deadlines...the dates in the Weekly Lesson Plan and Google Classroom are a guide for students to stay on top of the work they need to finish and turn in.
In the first few weeks of online learning (March 23rd to April 3rd) students were not receiving grades. This was in part to give students grace to adjust to the technology and learning off-site.
Per the new grading policy (for assignments given on or after April 6th), it is very important for each assignment in a subject to be completed and turned in. No one assignment will be “graded” but rather we will be evaluating all the assignments within a learning target for MS: mastered or NM: Not mastered. We monitor all assignments finished or turned in within 48 hours of the due date of the assignment. We give feedback on correctness and explaining what the correct answers should be - as it is appropriate. We may also return assignments to be redone. We are also commenting if they need to complete a missing assignment in the private comment feature in their google classroom documents.
