Need Online Courses for Students in Grades K-12? Look no Further!
GenNET Online Learning is your solution!
The main goal of GenNET Online Learning is to make it easy for schools to offer affordable, high-quality options for online learning for their students in grades K-12. Our user-friendly enrollment Portal is your "one-stop shop" for online learning.
No contracts or minimum number of enrollments are required, and billing is from one source (even though you may enroll students in courses with multiple providers).
If your school isn't already using GenNET Online Learning, please visit us at www.gennet.us to check out our catalog and provider details. If you would like to enroll students, you just need to request an account!
Two Big Announcements
GenNET Online Learning Portal - New and Improved!
Over the Summer, we did some updating to our GenNET Online Learning Portal. The new and improved Portal has officially launched, and we are making ongoing improvements in response to feedback received. Some of the improved features include:
- Easier navigation
- Ability to enroll a student in several courses in one step (and set the start/end dates)
- Pick a course and enroll a group of students into the course
- Customized dashboard that provides fast access to enrollment data
- Downloadable report with Teacher PICs
- Courses in the catalog that include a Michigan-certified teacher are noted by a blue ribbon next to the course code.
The new Portal also has enhanced security. As a result, everyone who had a login for the "old" Portal has to request a new account. Your new login credentials will be sent to the email address you provide, and then you're ready to begin enrolling students.
Please click here to see the Help/Resources information for the new Portal. (This information is available on the GenNET Portal at www.gennet.us.)
REP Reporting - An Easy Solution!
We are happy to tell you about this new feature, as it should ease your burden when submitting your REP data! Because the GenNET Online Learning Portal serves schools across the State of Michigan, CEPI has granted Genesee ISD permission to report all virtual teachers (for courses listed on the GenNET Portal) in Genesee ISD's REP. This means that any schools enrolling students via the GenNET Portal will not need to report the same teachers in their district REP.
Also, staff with a login to the Portal have access to the Teacher PIC report, which provides the data needed for TSDL submissions. CEPI staff tell us there may be data quality alerts during the TSDL submission due to the REP file not including the online teacher data, but have provided assurance this will not have an impact on data submission.
Please share this information with your administrative and pupil accounting staff. If you would like more information or have questions, please contact us at 888-364-5409 or via email at onlinelearning@geneseeisd.org.
