Fall Treat Bags

As a 2nd grade team we have decided that we are going to collect money instead of items. We will use the money collected to purchase the items for the fall treat bags. We feel that this would be best and safest as far as less exposure and handling. If you are able to please send $3 as a contribution to help fill our fall treat bags for our amazing 2nd grade students.

Family Focus

This year we are taking more of a family focused approach to homework. We believe that spending quality family time is vital in the success of your student. We will provide family friendly, engaging homework activities and assignments. We would love if you would send us pictures of these activities and share them with us.

This weeks Family focus: Read with your family and as you read discuss the events of the story and create a BME- Write a sentence about what happened in the beginning, middle and end and then draw a picture to illustrate each sentence.

ELAR: We will identify and describe how text features help us as we read, making predictions, and practice generating and answering questions before, during and after reading. We will continue identifying and using common and proper nouns.

Math: This week we will review counting coins and begin solving two step addition and subtraction problems.

Social Studies: We will discuss and identify state and national symbols.

Science: We will observe how magnets are used in everyday life.
