Resources From The Social Worker
Hello
Linked below is a Smore page intended to provide resources and ideas for engaging parents/caregivers and families with Social and Emotional Learning. On this page there are links to activities to do with your child, articles on several different topics to support effective conversations with your child, as well as book recommendations for both you and your child.
If your child is struggling please reach out for support and let us know so we can check in with them. If you do not find any of these resources that work for you and your family please reach out for additional referrals. We are here to help support you and your child however we can.
My role is to support students and provide them with a consistent person they can trust with personal matters. As the social worker, I am often the one who intervenes when situations arise throughout the school day. If there are ever any questions or concerns about my role or regarding your child/children, please feel free to reach out!
Thanks,
Kristen Abbo. LLMSW

The Student Pantry
School can be difficult for anyone but if you're a student who does not have access to basic school supplies, clothing, or is food insecure, it can be a day-to-day struggle to survive. Walled Lake families that are in need should contact their counselor, social worker, or principal. Each school in the district has received invitations from the Student Pantry. Families that qualify for free or reduced lunch can receive an application from their school.
