The fee has increased this year:
$40 for each exam
$25 for each for students with free/reduced lunch
$97 for challenging an exam for a class in which the student is not enrolled

SIGN UP FOR YOUR SENIOR YEARBOOK PICTURE APPOINTMENT IN THE LIBRARY CLASSROOM BY THURSDAY, SEPT. 29. PICTURES WILL BE TAKEN IN THE MEDICAL BUILDING FOYER OCT. 4 (A-DAY) & 5 (B-DAY) FROM 8:30 A.M. TO 2:35 P.M.

THE DRAPE AND TUX ARE PROVIDED BY THE STUDIO.

PSAT
Northside 10th and 11th graders will take the College Board Preliminary Scholastic Assessment Test, or PSAT, free of charge on Wednesday, Oct. 12th.
For 11th grade students, the PSAT/NMSQT is the route of entry to the National Merit Scholarship Program. Requirements for participation, steps in the competition, and awards offered are explained in the PSAT/NMSQT Student Guide and on National Merit Scholarship Corporation’s website at www.nationalmerit.org.
Seniors are encouraged to schedule college visits. Seniors who come to school that day will be able to participate in various activities.
UTHSCSA Opportunities!!
A new enrichment activity, presented after school:
STUDENT TO STUDENT. These interactive sessions will allow high school and college students to gain insight about their futures from current professional students at UT Health. Topics addressed will include how to manage the transition from high school to college to professional school, time management, balancing school life with other interests, and tips for success. These will be offered on the following dates, in the evening from 6-7pm via Zoom.

Voelcker Biomedical Research Academy Nominee Application Session for Freshmen Students who are applying to the Voelcker Academy. The sessions will discuss what the Voelcker Academy is about and prepare students to submit competitive applications This preparation session is for individual students who seek guidance in essay writing and interview skills prior to submitting their Voelcker Academy application. Sessions must be arranged directly with Ms. Kristen La Porte via email to laporte@uthscsa.edu and may have students from different schools attending; as these will be conducted virtually.
Heads Up for Homecoming
If you are going to want to have a mum this year, you may want to do your supply shopping now. We have heard that Hobby Lobby and Michael's will begin putting their supplies away or will simply run out toward the end of October.
