A Message from the FSA President
Dear Parents of St. Francis Catholic School,
The holidays are here! And with that being said we have so many fun and exciting events planned at St. Francis. In this month's newsletter you will find the details and dates for Breakfast with Santa, the Reindeer Run and Christmas Festival, links to volunteer and how your children can earn service hours.
We have extended registration for the Reindeer Run until Friday, November 22nd. Spots are filling quickly, so don't wait! Below you will find a link where you can sign up to help with the run and the Christmas Festival. We will need parent and student volunteers. A great and fun way to earn service hours!
Stay tuned for details on how to win game tickets for the Christmas Festival by bringing in plastic caps!
The annual Pottery Jam was an amazing success! Thank you to all those who came out and supported our school and a huge thank you to Merideth Johnson for organizing such a wonderful event! Keep an eye out for finished pieces in the school lobby and in the fine arts building.
The FSA will be holding a monthly meeting on Thursday, December 12th at 8am in the conference room. Directly following we will have our golf tournament/gala meeting. Come join us! All are welcome!
Thank you for your continued support and I look forward to seeing everyone at the upcoming events!

Reindeer Run & Christmas Festival 2019
New to St. Francis Catholic School this year is our 5K Reindeer Run followed by a Christmas Festival filled with games, prizes, face painting and the always popular cake walk! The first 125 runners to register will get a custom Christmas Salty Dog/St. Francis T-Shirt and reindeer antlers. Breakfast will be provided by The Salty Dog Cafe for all runners at the finish line. The run begins at 8am. Please register by the deadline, so that you can pick your shirt sizes.
We have extended the registration until Friday, November 22. Don't wait, spots are going fast!
The Christmas Festival will be in the school drop off/pick up loop. You do not have to participate in the run to enjoy the festival. The festival will take place from 10am - 12pm. Come dump your principal in the dump tank, play carnival games for prizes, sip hot cocoa and win Christmas themed cakes! Don't forget to stop by the art and crafts table to make a stocking or picture frame and taste delicious sweet treats from the bake club!
If you would like to donate cakes or 2 liters or volunteer to help with set up or breakdown of the festival, please contact Kristen Hannagan. khannagan03@live.com or sign up through the sign up genius below.
No-Sew Blankets
Dear Parents,
During this season of thanks, the FSA is proud to once again be assisting The Women of St. Francis with their Annual No-Sew Blanket Kit Project. The WOSF will be donating the completed blankets to Volunteers in Medicine, and will then distributed to families in need including cancer patients and The Pregnancy Center of the Low Country, along with Family Promise.
The school has been given 19 blankets kits and we are looking for volunteers to assemble blankets. The kits include the material and instructions are provided. These blankets are very easy to make, though the WOSF have also recommended YouTube tutorials.
Completed blankets can be returned to the FSA, via the School Office, no later than Friday, December 6th. If you are interested in helping, please click on the Sign-Up Genius link below. Kits will be sent home with your child early next week.
Operation Morale Support
Dear Families,
This holiday season St. Francis Catholic School has an opportunity to help the Women of St. Francis to provide Christmas Stockings to our military through “Operation Morale Support”. There are several ways we can help: purchase and fill stockings with supplies, donate money towards the shipping costs (it costs about $40 to send 10 stockings, so even a few dollars add up quickly!), have your kids make cards to put in stockings, or if you’re crafty and able to sew stockings you can donate them to be filled.
If you are willing to send a Christmas Stocking or two here are a few popular suggestions to enclose (no aerosol or treats containing hemp seed ingredients): Toiletries and hygiene products, Assorted treats, Sudoku or Crossword books, K-cups, Powder drink singles, Packs of Crackers and cookies, snacks, candies, pistachios, Protein Bars, Single packages of Tuna creations, Socks, Underwear, Undershirts, Lens wipes, Lip balm, Foot powder, Beef jerky, gloves/hand warmers, bath towels, twin size fleece blankets…
You may drop any donations off at the school, or you can ship your stockings directly to the Chaplin:
Chaplain (CPT) Russell Sanders
A Co, 2-10 Infantry Battalion
13062 W. 7th St.
Fort Leonard Wood, MO 65473
Packages must be mailed out by December 14th in order to arrive on time. If you are sending any donations to the school, please have them in by December 6th to allow for any needed stocking stuffing and packaging to be done by the 14th.
If you have any questions or need assistance you may contact Marjie Gaynor from the WOSF 843-422-1411, marjiegaynor@gmail.com or Lori Jenkins from the FSA, loriblan@twc.com.
