MAY IS MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS MONTH!
For 2021’s Mental Health Awareness Month the National Alliance on Mental Health (NAMI) will continue to amplify the message of “You Are Not Alone.” Their goal is to ensure that no one feels alone in their struggle and their is help available. Nearly 10 million adults in America live with a mental illness, with 50% of them beginning by age 14 and 75% before age 24. NAMI also shares that suicide is the 10th leading cause of death worldwide. However, mental illness affects everyone directly or indirectly through family, friends or coworkers. Despite mental illnesses’ prevalence, stigma and misunderstanding are also, unfortunately, widespread.(www.nami.org).
Lets stand together to spread awareness and stop the stigma. Remember, It is OK to not be OK! "You are not alone" in your struggle and there is help available (resources below).
