Big News! With this update, you can wirelessly share the content of your mobile device (iOS and Android) in a Teams Room without needing to first set up a meeting.


Using Bluetooth, users can broadcast their screen and cast content stored locally on their device or content accessible via Office 365.


Caution:

Everything on the device screen, including notifications, will be projected. You may want to set your device to Do Not Disturb before sharing your screen.


Before you begin

  • The Teams mobile app must be installed on the mobile device, and Bluetooth must be turned on.

  • Both the mobile device and the Teams Rooms device must be connected to the internet.

  • The mobile device must be within 10 meters (32.8 feet) of the room device.

Cast your mobile device screen


Caution: Everything on your device screen, including notifications, will be projected. You may want to set your device to Do Not Disturb before sharing your screen.


In Teams, tap Cast in the navigation bar.


If you don’t see the Cast app when you open Teams, tap More to access it.

2. The app will search for and then list nearby Teams Rooms. If you don't see the Teams Rooms device you want, move closer to it. Tap an available Teams Room.

The app will connect to the room. Tap Project my screen to share everything that appears on the screen.

For iOS only: Select Microsoft Teams on the next screen.

Tap Start Broadcast on the same screen.


Note: You won't be able to answer a call, join a meeting, or switch to a different Teams account while casting.

Stop projecting

Tap the pill icon at the top of the screen.

Creating a Student Watchlist

Are you interested in customizing data views to identify students who are falling behind, on track, or ahead of their projected target? This page will show you how.


Under the Courses tab, select Manage Enrollments

Click the Filters button.

Click the Pacing filter. Select the radio-dial next to Behind by more than ___%. Insert a percentage.

Select the additional filters to narrow down the data. Course's School and Groups (User Group) are helpful ones.

Click Apply.

Select the gear icon.

Checkmark the headers to display data of the students' enrollments.

Click Save Configuration

View and analyze the list of students who are falling behind.

Change in Access to Settings, Zoom Controls, Keyboard Shortcuts, About, and Check for Updates Location

These changes are rolling out now you might notice some differences. If you have issues with TEAMS you may want to go to the ellipsis (3 dots) and click "check for updates". Signing out all the way and logging back in can help those changes process.


Look for these updates!


Access to Settings, Zoom Controls, Keyboard Shortcuts, About, and Check for Updates is moving from the Me Menu to a new menu in the title bar. The Me Menu will be focused on account management, where users can switch to another account or tenant through the first level of the Me Menu. The following links will be moved out of the Me Menu into a new menu in the title bar:

  • Zoom Controls
  • Keyboard Shortcuts
  • About
  • Check for updates

When this will happen

  • Rollout to Standard release will begin in late May and complete by early June.
  • Rollout to GCC will begin in mid-June and complete by early July.



The Me Menu will be focused on account management, with account and tenant switching moved to level one of the menu.
