Badger Blast: February 11 - 16

It's a short week for students this week combined with a long weekend!

No school on Thursday, Friday or Monday (as noted in above image). We hope that you will take time to schedule time to visit with your child/children's teachers Thursday afternoon or evening.

Also, it's not a bad time to take advantage of the time to help us combat the flu virus that's in the region and clean any of the school supplies, backpacks, etc., that your child might bring home on a regular basis. Enjoy the long weekend and we hope that those who have been hit by bugs and viruses can use the few days to get healthy!

it's flu season...wash your hands, wash your friends' hands, wash your enemies' hands

Several towns have been hit hard by the flu and other viruses during this flu season, so see the below tips on hand-washing from the CDC and help do your part to help us have healthy schools!

The school lunch menus are located on the official APSD App (available in the App Store and on Google Play) as well as the link below on the APSD website (just click the image below the next paragraph).

For those parents who use the app to check school lunch menus, a change was made before Thanksgiving Break and menus are again available on each school's portion of the app. For some reason, the menus had just been populated to the APSD section of the app. From now on, you should be able to locate the school lunch menus on your respective school's page on the app. Normal procedure is for menus to be uploaded for the entire month at the beginning of the month.

APSD Utilizing AMI Days Again in 2018-19; PLEASE Update Contact Info. at Respective Campuses If You've Changed Numbers

January has started off on the warm side, but there's still the potential for winter weather over the next two or three months in our area. As you've read before in this space, the Arkansas Department of Education has again approved APSD for five days to be used at Alternative Methods of Instruction (AMI) Days along with many other school districts in the state of Arkansas.

AMI days allow school district to potentially not have to add extra days to the end of the school calendar in late May and early June.

APSD will use phone and text notifications as well as social media and traditional media to notify families of cancellations. PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR CONTACT INFORMATION ON FILE WITH YOUR CHILD OR CHILDREN'S RESPECTIVE CAMPUS IS UP TO DATE.

Information regarding AMI days as it pertains to APSD can be found at this link

Keep Up with Arkadelphia Public Schools on Social Media

You can keep up with events and other information at all of the APS campuses by several social media outlets. These locations are also a great place to see pictures of events that take place throughout the year.
