Merlo Food Pantry!
You may have noticed the regular food and snacks we have been putting out by our office, this has been coming from a partnership with Al at Holy Trinity. We have cleaned out one of the closets in the school lobby and have also created a food pantry for students and their families. We hope to keep regular snacks and supplies by our office and have a pantry for students and families to get food for evenings, weekends, and holiday breaks. If you have a student who could use some food let us know and we can help them pack a bag. Parents are also welcome to come by. We are keeping inventory and tracking what foods are going and which foods are not as popular.
We are also working to find some regular donations for toiletries. If you have any ideas to help please let us know!

District Community Event - Conversations About Race
Come join the conversation! Southridge High School is hosting a community-wide event on Wednesday, January 29, 2020. Starting with a schoolwide "conversation about race" earlier in the day, the school is then opening its doors to all students, families, staff, community members, and partners to engage in community-wide conversations about race from 3:30-6:00 p.m. There will be student, staff, and community-led breakout sessions on various topics from 3:30-4:10 and 5:05-5:45, with a keynote student panel from 4:15-5:00. The goal of this event is to increase individual racial literacy by participating in meaningful and purposeful learning and conversation. Look for a registration link via a GoogleForm coming soon!
