Week of January 27th- January 31st

Admin Team Message

Welcome to Hexter 4! This officially marks the mid point of our school year. Students, you made it! Keep working hard, showing up ready to learn, and finally continue to contribute to the spirit of Merlo. We ended Hexter 3 with sad news about the passing of one of our former students. Remember to reach out if you need something as we are here to support each other.

As we welcome several new students and families to the Merlo Community we wish everyone a great first week of the Hexter!

Arcade Day!

Students and Staff enjoyed Arcade Day! Put on by Ryan's Physics class all games were constructed by students. After learning about circuits, currents and voltage students put this into practice by creating a variety of Arcade games Ski Bowling, Whack-a-Mole, Fear Pong, The Claw, or the Electric Mustang (among others!) were on display. Congratulations on a VERY ambitious and successful project!

Merlo Food Pantry!

You may have noticed the regular food and snacks we have been putting out by our office, this has been coming from a partnership with Al at Holy Trinity. We have cleaned out one of the closets in the school lobby and have also created a food pantry for students and their families. We hope to keep regular snacks and supplies by our office and have a pantry for students and families to get food for evenings, weekends, and holiday breaks. If you have a student who could use some food let us know and we can help them pack a bag. Parents are also welcome to come by. We are keeping inventory and tracking what foods are going and which foods are not as popular.

We are also working to find some regular donations for toiletries. If you have any ideas to help please let us know!
