Strategies that work
Think of it this way: first, give them a structure and let them fill in the information (for example, give them a Cloze paragraph or fill in the blank activity). Then have them repeat the same information, but create their own structure, (for example, ask them to summarize what they learned in their own words).
SHOUT OUTS!!!
Principal Garret Zakahi, for having our AC Units installed. It's so nice and cool in our room now. Thank you very much!
Jefferson Ohana, for their support in sending our students on-time everyday for their annual WIDA testing which began in mid January and ended in February. We truly appreciate all of you very much. Much Mahalo Everyone!
Custodians in the O-Building Kim Le and substitute Ngoc Le, for making sure our facilities have enough supplies to use everyday. Every time we put in a request, the job gets down. The outside window sills are free of gecko droppings and we can breathe easy when we open the windows. Thanks for all your hard work, Ladies!
Coach Taylor, for Movement Mornings on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Because of your help and support, our little ones in grade one understand the importance of daily exercise. This week, two excited girls, as they huffed and puffed hurriedly off to their classrooms, said they exercised, - "Because we can stay healthy and not be sick." They got it Coach Taylor! Mahalo nui loa!
