Reading and Social Studies
*BOOK PROJECT INFORMATION* Book projects are due on March 4th. Students still need to be writing a 3-5 sentence summary every night on the 20 minutes they read. This needs to continue even if the student is finished with their book project book since all students still need to be reading 20 minutes each night.
If you ever misplace the reading log, rubric, or instructions for the book project, additional copies can be found on my class website: http://www.boone.kyschools.us/olc/class.aspx?id=4574&s=1256. You can also access it through the OES home page.
Reading: Last week, we focused on point of view. We compared and contrasted stories from different points of view. This week we will begin our fantasy unit by looking at point of view from fractured fairy tales.
Language Arts: We have been busy identifying and selecting the appropriate tenses for linking verbs and helping verbs. This week we will move onto different types of sentence- simple, compound, fragments, and run-ons.
Social Studies: We are continuing our study on government. After discussing the three levels of government, we are ready to analyze the three branches of government.

Notes from the teacher
Baby Sophia is finally here! She was born on Wednesday night. Mrs. Dailey is doing well now even though she had some complications and ended up having an emergency c-section. She went home from the hospital on Sunday. She wanted to thank everyone for their well wishes!
Ms. Depenbrock has started as Mrs. Dailey's long term sub. If you ever have any questions or concerns, you may email Ms. Depenbrock at nicole.depenbrock@boone.kyschools.us. Of course, you may also always contact Ms. Schreiner as well. We are excited to work together to continue to have an excellent year!
