STUDENT GROWTH AND ACHIEVEMENT
In preparation for the January 7 WFSG, please download and read the article:"Types of Struggling Readers." In a separate e-mail from Christine, you will receive the name of two students. You will analyze the two students' reading data and come prepared to learn and plan strategies to help them grow as readers.
SAFE AND CARING ENVIRONMENT
SACE committee will meet in Matt Famous' room next day 1, Dec18.
SWPBS Reboot (review of expectations) will take place on Tuesday, January 21 in the morning. More information to come.
Keep an eye for hallway "Stopping Points." These will be used by all classes. More information to come.
CLIMATE AND CULTURE
Received a "not-quite-right" gift for the holidays? No worries! Rewrap it and bring it to the First Annual EV ReGift Exchange, happening at our January C&C faculty meeting!
COMMUNICATION HIGHLIGHT
COPY PAPER USAGE
We have about 20% of our white copy paper left for the 19-20 school year. We've already used over 120 cases of paper. I strongly encourage going digital as much as possible and only printing what is necessary for curriculum. Word searches and similar should no longer be printed as they are not part of our curricular materials.
Need help going digital? Ask a colleague or partner with Danielle.
STUDENT/SCHOOL ATTENDANCE IMPROVEMENT PLAN (SAIP) MEETINGS
Many thanks to the teachers and staff who participated in our updated SAIP meeting format. The response was positive. The purpose of the teacher participation is to share the impact that the absences and/or latenesses have on academic, social, behavioral, emotional performance and progress. During the meeting, the team generates solutions to improve attendance and sets a goal. The goal is formulated using the baseline data. The plan aims to decrease absences and latenesses such that students are no longer categorized as "chronically absent."
Thank you to our colleagues who provided coverage during the meetings too. I appreciate it!
WELCOME NEW STAFF AND THE RETURN OF STAFF
Welcome to Tori Ruager who joins us for Katie Overland until her return. Some of you may remember that Tori/Miss R recently joined us as Shawn's student teacher. Tori will start sometime this week pending pre-employment paperwork with ESS.
We welcome back Carrie Mitton on January 2. Lynda Phillips will continue with us until December 20.
